Weir View House is ideally placed to offer outstanding luxurious accommodation at extremely affordable prices. This nine bedroom guest house features five Executive Suites and four Standard Suites, most with beautiful picture-postcard views of the River Thames and Pangbourne Weir. All have contemporary en suite bathrooms and king size or super king size 4-poster, sleigh, or block railway-sleeper beds. Pangbourne Pangbourne is a beautiful small village nestled between The Berkshire Downs and The Chiltern Hills. Although small in size, we are well served by a selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and a number of pubs with great settings by the riverside, all within a coupe of minutes’ walk from Weir View House. Apart from the aforementioned, you will also find a chemist, banks, convenience stores, a charcuterie, gift shops, florists, an award winning Butchery named Britain’s Best Butchers and across the river in our neighbouring village, Whitchurch, we even have an Art Gallery. As we are a short walk from the Thames Path, there are a number of beautiful walks in this area, whether you are looking for something easy-going or more strenuous! You might also like to explore the leafy country lanes or tackle the famous Ridgeway via mountainbike. If you don’t want to bring your own bikes, a nearby cycle shop is able to provide bikes for hire. Ask at our reception if this appeals to you. Travel and Places of Interest Reading, only 15 minutes drive, lies in the heart of the Thames Valley region. A large bustling town with a good selection of shops and includes the popular Oracle Shopping Centre built around the Canal, housing a cinema and several restaurants and wine bars. Via Train Pangbourne to Reading is just two stops – 9 minutes Pangbourne to Oxford – 40 minutes Pangbourne to London – 50 minutes Just five minutes drive in the direction of Oxford, in the village of Lower Basildon, we have Child Beale Wildlife Park and Basildon Park House – both worthy of a visit. There is much to offer in the surrounding area and to help you, you’ll find leaflets of various things to do, see and visit, in our Reception.
